About

I was born 1972 in Istanbul . I finished university in Ankara . In 1998, I was appointedas a Visual Arts Teacher by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). Since the beginning of my career as a Visual Arts Teacher, I actively worked in education, science, culture and sports festivals, I also prepared the pamphlet on Human Rights, and proposed and implemented social responsibility projects. I have received many awards since 2001.
In 2004, I have organized a workshop in Bulgaria for BalGoc Association, about cultural integration of Bulgaria and Turkey to EU, with the theme of “culture andcreati ve education”. In 2005, I attended an in-service training for teachers  on European Union Socrates Programs and Project Management which helped meconduct studies on EU projects. As I have an experience on this subject developed by the Turkish MoNE, I carried out EU Comenius projects that enabled the schools Iworked for and myself to get in touch with different cultures and interact withdifferent implementation types of art. These projects were both in national and international levels, and their main themes were multiculturalism. I was awarded an extra monthly salary for my outstanding efforts and performance in work, as perarticle 123 of Law No and Certificate of Commendation in 2005, by the Ministry of National Education of Turkish Republic.
In 2006, I founded my personal art studio and worked with adults there. At the opening ceremony I held a personal art exhibition. During this period I worked on social responsibility projects through my art studio and the Adult Education Centre I was working for. I also took part in a group exhibition arranged by the Teachers’ Union named Egitim-Is. The European Commission proposed a European Agenda for Culture, which wasendorsed by the Council of the European Union in 2007. This document was published by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency. I participated partnership building visits to Holland and England in 2008. I also took part in many
activities and working groups about preparing EU project proposals in my school and region, which were based on the outputs of the report titled “Arts and Cultural Education at School in Europe”, published by Eurydice Turkish Unithttp://www.eurydice.org/) in 2009. in 2011-2012 I attended Education Seminars on Total Quality Management,Project Cycle Management, ProjectPreparation Techniques, Process Management, and Strategic Management and Planning. Having anexperience on this subject I have a desire to contribute to the development of a VisualArts Curriculum by using the “culture and art” perceptional and cognitive backgrounds of people affect their culture, which are reflected in their artistic outputs. A year later, in 2013, we had a child and my husband was invited to work in Vancouver. When I visited him in Vancouver I was fascinated by the multicultural society in there as I have been interested on this topic all my working life long. I have decided to apply for a permanent residence. I live in Vancouver
